Area Guide Playa De Palma

Playa de Palma, which takes its name from the city, is a 6km-long resort going from Can Pastilla, just south of the centre of Palma, to S’Arenal further southeast. Discover what it has to offer on its long promenades and cafe-filled walks starting from the shadow of Palma’s cathedral.

As the name implies, this is Palma’s beach – its centre being about 10km away from the cultural heart of the city, but it’s eastern edge being within walking distance from La Seu, Palma’s cathedral. Given its proximity to the airport, it has been a tourist hotspot with plenty of bars, clubs, restaurants and hotels dotted along 6km stretch, making it one of Mallorca’s biggest holiday resorts. This also means it’s very well organised: there are lifeguards all along the beach, plenty of free-to-use bathrooms and places to buy a lounger or a parasol.
